Staying on Track for Patrick

Patrick Wheeler is a family man who loves to spend time with his wife, Amber, and their two girls, Lindsey and Lydia. Patrick is very active in his role as an Elder at New Heights Church in Milton, West Virginia, and spends most of his free time supporting both of his girls in their respective sports. Vacation times are spent at Walt Disney World, and anyone who knows Patrick knows he loves to talk about Disney. With this in mind, Patrick became one of the co-hosts of the Monorail Tales Podcast.

For the past four years, Patrick has been battling ALK+ Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. Recent medical tests have shown that his cancer has mutated into a different, more aggressive form of lung cancer, known as Small Cell Lung Cancer. When this happens, it is called histologic transformation, and it is very rare — in fact, there are only 15 documented cases in the world of ALK+ Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, changing histologically to Small Cell Lung Cancer. As Patrick now undergoes a more extensive and aggressive form of treatment, his fellow co-hosts from Monorail Tales have united with the Dubs Community Alliance, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, to create this fundraiser to help support Patrick during his treatment journey — not only to assist with financial needs but also to bring greater awareness to ALK+ lung cancer.

No donation is too small or too big, and each will be greatly appreciated as we come together to support Patrick and his family during the coming months. (All donations are tax deductible.) To learn more about this rare form of cancer, please visit alkpositive.org/what-is-alk.
